Scleral Lenses, What are THOSE!

Scleral contacts are basically B I G lenses whose edges, "land", on the white part of the eye, known as the sclera.

These types of lenses allow us to improve patient’s vision that otherwise cannot be fixed with other contact lenses or glasses. If you've been told in the past that you cannot wear contact lenses because of an irregular cornea or other problems, you may want to get a second opinion and ask your eye doctor about scleral contact lenses. When it comes to Dry Eye, scleral contact lenses are typically reserved for helping us manage moderate to severe dry eye disease. These eyes are stubborn and tend to resist most of the therapies we throw at them.

We have helped a lot of people see better with Scleral contacts at our office. We have had patients travel from as far away as Poland to come see us and be fitted with Scleral lenses.

Bottom line is we love fitting scleral contact lenses, they allow us to provide many of our patients with healthy and crisp vision when nothing else will.
